Trade publication CRN, the leading source of IT channel news, trends analysis and best practices for solutions providers, has been busy this new year compiling annual lists that recognize solution provider excellence, including several that recognize TierPoint for its excellence as a managed services provider, managed security service provider (MSSP), cloud infrastructure vendor and data center services provider.
Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500
In addition to recently naming Kenny Ash to its 2018 Channel Chiefs class, this month CRN also named TierPoint to its 2018 Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500 list, which recognizes North American solution providers with cutting-edge approaches to delivering managed services. CRN explained that “managed service provider offerings help companies navigate the complex and ever-changing landscape of IT, improve operational efficiencies, and maximize their return on IT investments.”
Managed services providers like TierPoint provide businesses with IT guidance, expertise and resources. These services are in demand. CRN reported that the managed services market grew year over year from $145.3 billion in 2016 to $152.45 billion in 2017, based on statistics provided by MarketsandMarkets, an industry research firm that forecasts managed services will become a $257 billion industry by 2022.
“In today’s fast-paced business environments, MSPs play an important role in helping companies leverage new technologies without straining their budgets or losing focus on their core business,” said a recent CRN statement. CRN’s MSP 500 list shines a light on the most forward-thinking and innovative of these key organizations.
Managed Security 100, a list of top managed security service providers (MSSPs)
TierPoint is named in the Managed Security 100 category of the Managed Services Provider (MSP) 500. This top 100 list recognizes excellence in managed security service providers that are focused primarily on off-premise, cloud-based security services.
In addition to recognizing TierPoint in the top 100 for managed security service providers, CRN described TierPoint’s managed services offerings as including IT helpdesk, lifecycle/asset management, managed security, remote monitoring, software license management, warranty/patch/vendor management, colocation, managed storage/backup, and network operations center (NOC).
The managed cloud security services market is experiencing notable growth. MarketsandMarkets last year published its estimate that the cloud security market will reach $12.73 billion in 2022, up from $4.09 billion in 2017, a substantial compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.5%.
20 Coolest Cloud Infrastructure Vendors
It’s pretty cool to be named one of CRN’s 20 Coolest Cloud Infrastructure Vendors of 2018, an elite group elevated from CRN’s 2018 Cloud 100. In recognizing TierPoint with this cool cloud infrastructure vendor award, CRN described us as “a channel-friendly cloud provider and data center operator [that] has been actively investing in the data center space both through organic and inorganic growth for the past several years.”
Indeed, we are an actively growing cloud infrastructure vendor, focused on putting our customers first. Our cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings include multitenant, private, and managed Azure deployments for production, disaster recovery, and backup services. Our customers can administer their entire hybrid cloud infrastructure—data centers and public cloud together—with a single pane of glass management framework. This lets our customers move workloads between on-premises and off-premises environments with ease.
Data Center 100, a list of top data center service providers
The last recognition we’ll highlight is TierPoint’s inclusion in the top 20 Data Center Service Providers in CRN’s 2018 Data Center 100, which focuses on the importance of third-party data center services providers. “Each vendor on this list has different specialized strengths to deliver services such as secure connections to hyper-scale clouds, asset management, managed hosted, co-location, network interconnect capabilities and disaster recovery,” explained the article’s author. “Data center services enable organizations to focus on business outcomes while others handle the operations.”
In describing our place as a top-20 data center provider, CRN states, “TierPoint has been investing to expand its data center presence through acquisitions as well as organic growth.” The acquisition of Cosentry and facility buildouts in Pennsylvania and New York are specifically mentioned.
TierPoint is pleased to share that we have completed two data center projects in the first two months of this year: our $13 million New York data center expansion and the construction of a new data center in Tulsa.
